Overview

Automation designed for one to four channels

FastBreak NXT automation manages and controls content in the broadcast master control room. It is a comprehensive solution designed for one to four channels of control that integrates database management with control of video servers, tape transports, switchers, routers, and other common peripherals. Numerous commercial broadcast groups and Public Television stations have relied on FastBreak NXT automation since its first release in 1995.

Media Management

Supporting a variety of ingest methods including dubbing, real-time recording and file-based ingest, FastBreak NXT intelligently moves media and metadata between storage devices such as video servers and archive systems. FastBreak NXT ensures that media is available for playback and moves content directly to a broadcast facility’s play-to-air server with a single click.

Redundancy

Maximizing uptime, Avid provides a variety of system redundancy options in addition to standard mirrored hard drives and hot swappable power supplies. For further enhancement, fault-tolerant SQL Data Server and ListSync with auto-failover capability can be added.

FlexEvents

Since secondary events are a key aspect of broadcasting, Avid Automation’s FlexEvent enables you to respond with anything from a simple GPI logo insertion trigger to a complex sequence of actions involving multiple broadcast devices. An unlimited number of FlexEvents can be assigned as clip properties, through traffic instructions or to a user control. Billable events are reported in the as-run data.
