Avid Interplay Archive

Overview

Avid Interplay Archive

The optional Avid Interplay Archive network service provides desktop-based, drag-and-drop archiving and retrieval of clips, sequences, and other media assets. The Interplay database tracks files stored in an external storage library, so team members can look for both archived and online media using a single interface. Avid Interplay Archive restores requested files to the online system automatically.

Key Features:

Streamline access to and from archive
Send a clip to the selected archive destination directly from the Avid Interplay Access window, or drag-and-drop into an Auto Archive folder.

Search without switching applications
Easily search for a clip in the archive database using the SEARCH tab in the Avid Interplay Access window.

Eliminate clutter with Partial Restore
Skip the guesswork: you can use the "tree" view to find only the clip you want to restore. If only a segment of the archived master clip is required, Interplay Archive orders a partial restore of the subclip, saving time and online bandwidth.

Simplify transfers to and from the editing suite
A menu command embedded in the Avid Media Composer, NewsCutter, Instinct, and Symphony Nitris system interfaces makes it easy to send and retrieve media to and from archive, without interrupting the edit session.

Let Auto Archive do the housekeeping
Simply drag a clip or sequence to an Auto Archive folder and the system Use Avid Interplay multi-resolution options (such as Interplay Transcode or Interplay Low-Res Encode) to generate and store low-res versions of archived media for preview prior to retrieval.
