The proof is in performance.

In the newsroom, "good enough" is never enough.

You can’t afford to wonder if your workflow is going to work, or worry about what happens when it doesn’t. Cobbled-together solutions may function to some extent, but they inherently create inefficiencies that cost you time, money, and on-air quality. And that’s simply not good enough for your news product.

You told us you need solutions whose parts are tested and proven to work together. So that’s what we did, and that’s what we deliver.

When a large-scale European Broadcaster asked if our solution could support 331 clients, we didn't rely on 'theoretical models'. The only way to know was to stage and test it. So we did.

  • Performance: Delivering More Than Just "Functionality:"
Our team purchased and assembled machines to simulate the real-world operation in our dedicated scalability lab. Then they put it to the test. Function. Workflow. Load. Integration. The standard wasn’t mere load-tested function. It was seamless workflow performance.
  • Proven in Tougher-Than-Real-World Conditions:
Once they’d staged the system, our engineers pushed it… hard. We ran multiple, repetitive searches under automation. We had editors load and render complete sequences. We hammered capacity on storage, asset and production management. While all that was going on, we sent people in to run the customer’s end-to-end workflow. We weren’t going to claim 331 until we knew we could nail it. And we did.
  • Put Our Workflows – and Everything in Them – to the Test:
We do. Take a system to the point of failure to identify the weakest link. Strengthen that link and test again. It’s an approach that’s earned our customers’ trust. A trust we aim to keep.

When NBC needed to make diverse components deliver gold-medal performance in Beijing, they turned to Avid.

  • The challenge: take Thomson, Panasonic, and Sony cameras; Chyron graphics; Avid editors; and EVS playback servers; and deliver a real-time HD workflow that would convert multiple live feeds to finished clips pushed fast through 100+ pipes.
  • Avid and EVS collaborated to create a shared storage media management workflow that could seamlessly convert 100 megabit-per-second HD video from EVS servers to Avid’s DNxHD mezzanine compression format. This allowed EVS systems to transfer clips directly to Avid systems for editing, and for finished Avid clips to be pushed back to EVS servers for air.
  • To deliver a solution NBC could count on, we built, staged, and tested the entire workflow before packing it off to Beijing.
